SOTP is excited to welcome Scott Neese as the new Director of Song of the Pines as of May 2019.


He has a degree in Vocal Performance from Grand Canyon University.  Previously, Scott was the director of Chamber Singers and Community Chorale at Yavapai College.   From 2009-2015, Scott was the head of Visual and Performing Arts for Bakersfield Christian High School, where he conducted 3 choirs, taught Film Production and History and directed such musicals as: The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Seussical.


Scott has directed more than 50 musical productions in both California and Arizona including Kiss Me Kate and Into the Woods for Hope International University.  In 2002, he was the Music Director for She Loves Me at Grand Canyon University.


As a performer, he was seen as Harold Hill in Yavapai College's production of Meridith Wilson's The Music Man, and Emile DeBeque in PCA's South Pacific. He has also worked as a performer at Disneyland, and in 2016 Scott was a featured soloist for Grand Canyon University's presentation of Handel's Messiah.

Scott currently teaches private voice at Yavapai College, and directs Nova Voce, a men’s chorus that is part of Yavapai Youth Choirs.
